DOCOMO allows the actual user of the mobile phone to register in addition to the subscriber.
This allows registered users to receive discounts and services according to their age.
By registering user information, customers can have a safer and more secure Internet experience in cases such as when children use phones under their parents' names.

Subscribers Eligible for Registration

Individual subscribers*1 who subscribe to a 5G/Xi/FOMA service

  1. Corporate subscribers are not eligible for registration.

Information Items to Be Registered

Full name and date of birth of the user

Items Required

If the subscriber uses the mobile phone

The subscriber is required to make it clear that the subscriber uses the mobile phone (no documents are required).

If anyone other than the subscriber uses the mobile phone

The subscriber is required to provide a document verifying the identity of the user*2 when registering.

  1. The subscriber is required to present any of the documents for verifying the full name and date of birth of the user, such as a driver's license or student ID card, that are required to be presented at the time of making a new subscription. A copy of the document for identifying the user is acceptable. Either one of a health insurance card and student ID card is acceptable.

  • If the subscriber and user are different people, the application needs to be made by post. Request an application form via (docomo Online Application) and then fill in the necessary items and send it back.
  • Operation procedures on the actual screens are in Japanese.

Providing the Age Information for CGM Content Providers

CGM is the abbreviation for Consumer Generated Media.
It indicates media such as blogs and SNS where consumers contribute their own content.
In an effort to ensure safe and secure Internet use for minors, DOCOMO provides CGM content providers that support the age verification function (hereinafter referred to as supporting content providers) with the age information (verified age information of whether the user has reached the specified age at which users are permitted to use their services and this information is based on the date of birth of the user that is provided to DOCOMO beforehand; the same applies hereinafter) of users before they use CGM.

Information provided for the supporting content providers

Information provided for the supporting content providers is the information as to whether or not the user has reached the specified age at which the users are permitted to use the services based on the date of birth of the user*4 (however, the actual date of birth and age of the user are not provided).

The age information is not provided in the following cases.

  • When the user information is not registered
  • When the subscriber or user does not consent to providing the age information
