The DOCOMO R&D Center is located in the grounds of the Yokosuka Research Park and is a hub for intelligent manufacturing activities. Since its opening in March 1998, the Center has been involved in various research and development projects.

R&D Strategy Department
Plan and manage exploration, social implementation and research and development of advanced technologies and technology innovation.
Handle the general affairs and accounting for R&D division.
6G-Tech Department
Engage in international standardization, technology development, and alliance cooperation for 6G and IOWN networks.
Mobile Innovation Tech Department
Study device strategies, develop advanced technologies, and co-create with partners for the social implementation of 6G and IOWN.
Service Innovation Department
Develop AI/big data/cloud-related services and explore innovative technologies and promote their company-wide utilization.
X-Tech Development Department
Develop technological applications for business value enhancement, promote introduction and company-wide deployment of technical platforms across business sections for diversified value creation and contribute to the realization of IOWN.
