How to make international calls

Enter [+] [Recipient's country code] [Recipient's telephone number (landline/cell)] ⇒ Call

  • If the recipient's telephone number begins with 0, omit this and dial the following phone number (excludes certain countries and regions).

How to key a [+]: Hold [0] for over a second.

  • The method for keying a [+] varies by model. Please check your instruction manual, etc., for details.

Countries and Regions/Fees

  • Regardless of your contracted rate plan in Japan, your WORLD CALL call or communication fees will be the amounts stated.
  • Depending on the country and carrier, there are some instances where even if can't connect to your party charges may apply. Those include but are not limited to ringing the party, connecting to voicemail or other advisory services, etc.
  • Even if you have configured caller ID notification settings, there may be cases where "call disabled" or "not notified" is displayed instead of the correct number.
  • The time zones mentioned refer to Japanese time.
  • There may be places where radio waves do not reach even within service areas, or where the service is unavailable due to other communication issues such as network failure.
  • Consumption tax, etc., is not added to call and communication fees for the various international services.

About suspension due to exceeding usage limits and the resumption of service

A monthly usage limit (initially set at ¥20,000) is applied to the combined communication charges for WORLD CALL and international SMS. If the usage limit is exceeded, WORLD CALL (outgoing calls) and international SMS (sending) will be unavailable until the end of the same month. To resume service, please settle the full outstanding charges for WORLD CALL and international SMS at a docomo Shop. If you wish to change the usage limit, please contact a docomo Shop or the docomo Information Center.

Customers who are not subscribed to WORLD CALL can check their usage limit, cumulative usage amount, and other details by setting the International SMS Usage Limit Option in My docomo. For existing docomo customers, this option will be applied sequentially either through customer application or when applying for other services. In addition, for customers who enter into a new contract on or after April 1, 2026, the option will be automatically set if WORLD CALL is not subscribed.
