5.Packet Communications Network (PDC)

The mobile packet communications system "PDC-P" enables flexible, high-speed data transmission with a minimum of transmission errors by applying packet switching technology to the PDC system. The PDC-P system consists of the "PGW," which provides functions to connect to other networks such as LANs and the Internet, access the M-SCP, and interface with the connected network, and the "PPM," which carries out packet transmission and reception with the mobile unit via the base station. The packet communications processing equipment includes the packet gateway processing equipment (PGW) and the packet subscriber processing equipment (PPM.)
