DOCOMO offers its support to you and your children.
This service offers a discount on monthly charges for mobile phones to single-parent households.

  • Application : Required

Eligible Customers

You must meet eligibility conditions ① and ② below.

  1. You have one of the following certificates proving that you are a single parent or that you are raising a child on behalf of their mother or father.

    <Required documents>
    • Certificate of eligibility for child rearing allowances (Jido Fuyo Teate Jyukyusha Sho)
    • Certificate of the Family Register (proving that you are a single parent)
    • Certificate of medical expenses subsidy for single parents (Hitori Oya Katei Tou Iryohi Jyukyusha Sho)
  2. The date is still before the first March 31 since your child turns or turned 18.
  • This service requires you to register your child.
  • To register your child, you must present your child's identification documents.
  • This discount can be applied to only one line of each subscriber.

Billing Plans Applicable for Discounts

5G compatible plans

Xi "crossy" compatible plans

  • It applies to "Gigaho Premier" "Gigaho" (in Japanese only) and "Gigalight"
  • For "Gigaho", "Gigalight", and "Keitai Plan", the discount applies to subscribers who sign up on or after October 1, 2019. In My docomo and other documents including bills, it will be referred to as "Gigaho 2", "Gigalight 2", and "Keitai Plan 2".
  • For the Keitai Plan, the discount applies only to service charges for Voice option, and not to the usage charges for mobile phones.

Discount Details

This service allows you to save on monthly charges from the time of application to March 31 following the 18th birthday of the child. Furthermore, 5-minues calls are free.

Discount from the monthly charge

If you subscribe to DOCOMO's Giga plan, you will receive a ¥1,100 (incl. tax) discount from the monthly charge.

  • For lines that satisfy the application conditions, Kosodate Support Waribiki takes effect in the month of application. (The discounted amount is calculated on a per diem basis for a new subscription in the middle of the month.)
  • If the applicable billing plan is set to be applied from the following month, Kosodate Support Waribiki will also take effect on the following month.
  • DOCOMO's Giga plan is a generic term for 5G Gigaho Premier, 5G Gigaho, 5G Gigalight, Gigaho Premier, Gigaho and Gigalight.

Discount on the monthly charges for Voice option

Customers with Voice option who are subscribed to DOCOMO's Giga plan or Keitai Plan will receive a ¥770 (incl. tax) discount from monthly service charges for the corresponding option.

  1. This unlimited flat rate is applied to each call of up to 5 minutes. However, if a call exceeds 5 minutes, you will be charged ¥22 (incl. tax) every 30 seconds.
  2. The flat-rate service does not apply for calls sending and receiving overseas, WORLD CALL, SMS, the connection services of other companies such as 0570 and 0180, Special Numbers 188 toll free calls, 104 directory assistance fees, satellite phones/satellite marine phones, telephone numbers designated by DOCOMO (telephone numbers for connections for long periods or high volumes of communication for a certain continued period through mechanical calls, etc.), etc.
  • Even after the end of the discount period, you will remain subscribed to Voice option unless you cancel the subscription.
  • DOCOMO's Giga plan is a generic term for 5G Gigaho Premier, 5G Gigaho, 5G Gigalight, Gigaho Premier, Gigaho and Gigalight.

Application Procedure

Items required

The following documents must be presented for an application.

  1. One of the following certificates

    • Certificate of the Family Register (proving that you are a single parent)
    • Certificate of medical expenses subsidy for single parents (Hitori Oya Katei Tou Iryohi Jyukyusha Sho)*3
  2. Identification document indicating the date of birth of your child
  1. If you are sending an application by mail and your certificate is a certificate of eligibility for child rearing allowances (Jido Fuyo Teate Jyukyusha Sho) or a certificate of medical expenses subsidy for single parents (Hitori Oya Katei Tou Iryohi Jyukyusha Sho), send a copy of the certificate, ensuring that the following items are clearly visible
    • Certificate Name
    • Certificate No.
    • Name of the recipient
    • Local government that issued the certificate

  • If you apply by PC, smartphone, docomo Feature Phone or phone, you will be sent an application form by post to fill in and then send back.

Notes

  • Kosodate Support Waribiki cannot be applied to multiple lines of the same subscriber.
  • You cannot receive discount benefits from both Kosodate Support Waribiki and Minna DOCOMO Wari, Zutto Hajimete Sumaho Wari, Oshaberi Wari. If you satisfy the application conditions of any of these discount services, Kosodate Support Waribiki will apply.
  • You cannot subscribe to both Kosodate Support Waribiki and Hearty Discount. If you satisfy the application conditions of both discount services, Hearty Discount will apply. You can apply for either Hearty Discount or Kosodate Support Waribiki for only one line of each subscriber.
  • To apply for Kosodate Support Waribiki, the child's information need to be registered in addition to the subscriber's information.
  • To register your child, as the subscriber you must present your child's identification documents.

    A Japanese driver's license, an Individual Number Card (My Number Card), a government-issued identification booklet for the physically challenged (Shintai Shogaisha Techo), a government-issued welfare booklet for the mentally ill (Seishin Shogaisha Hoken Fukushi Techo [Shogaisha Techo]), a government-issued identification booklet for the mentally challenged (Ryoiku Techo), a Japanese Health Insurance Certificate, a Basic Resident Registration Card, a Residence card, a Certificate of Alien Registration, or a document other than the above issued from a government or municipal office verifying the birth of date.
  • If you change the billing plan to a non-applicable plan, Kosodate Support Waribiki will be canceled after the end of the month.
  • If Kosodate Support Waribiki is cancelled in the middle of the month, the discount is applied up to usage charges incurred in the month of cancellation.
  • If Voice option is cancelled, the discount on the monthly charges for the option is applied up to usage charges incurred in the month of cancellation.
  • Kosodate Support Waribiki will be automatically canceled when the discount period ends.
  • If one of the following conditions is met, the service will be canceled after the end of the month.
    • When the discount period ends
    • If the eligibility conditions for billing plans and customers are no longer met
    • If the subscriber's name is no longer eligible
    • If you apply for Phone Number Storage
    • If the usage of the child's information registered with DOCOMO is stopped
    • If you cancel your phone line
