DOCOMO to Establish New Business Units

TOKYO, JAPAN, April 26, 2013 --- NTT DOCOMO, INC., a personalized mobile solutions provider for smarter living, announced today that it will establish several new business units on July 1 as an initiative to restructure its business and organizational structure aimed at generating new revenue streams. The new units are expected to strengthen and accelerate the creation of services that will enable DOCOMO customers to realize smarter lives through innovative mobile technologies.

  • Plan, develop and manage smart-life services.
  Mobile Retail Department
  • Plan and develop content and services for dmarketTM portal and other platforms as a servicer (actual retailer).
  • Plan and operate dmarket portal.
  Content Business Department
  • Plan and develop services for dmenuTM and other platforms as a platformer (platform provider for content retailers).
  • Plan and develop content business for dmenu and other platforms.
  • Plan and operate mobile portals.
  • Plan and develop security services.
  Smart-life Solutions Department
  • Plan and develop advanced mobile services in fields such as education, healthcare and ecology.
  Financial Business Department
  • Plan and develop mobile-credit services, such as "DCMXTM" and "iDTM" credit payment services.
  • Plan and develop financial services, such as "docomo One Time InsuranceTM."
  Smart-life Planning Department
  • Manage and promote smart-life services overall.
  • Plan and manage common platforms.
  • Plan and develop mobile services.
M2M Business Department
  • Plan, develop and manage M2M services.
