TOKYO, JAPAN, January 27, 2012 --- NTT DOCOMO, INC. announced today that customers using its extra-high-speed next-generation LTE service Xi™ (read “Crossy”) exclusively for data communications with a second device will be eligible for special discounts starting March 1. Registrations for the “Xi2 Discount Campaign” will be accepted from March 1, 2012 to March 31, 2013 and users will begin receiving discounts from the month of registration.

The open-ended* campaign is available to Xi customers concurrently signed up for comprehensive (voice and data) service and subscribing to the “Xi Packet Flat-Rate” plan, but would also like to obtain a flat-rate data service plan (“Xi Data Plan FLAT” or “Xi Data Plan FLAT Ninen”) for a second mobile device.

In the case of a customer subscribing to a two-year contract for a Xi-compatible tablet as their second device, the discounted monthly rate would be ¥2,980 (including tax) for the first 25 months maximum, a discount of more than ¥3,000 off the current rate, and then ¥3,980 (including tax) from the 26^th month. Or, for a Xi-compatible mobile Wi-Fi router as the second device, the discounted monthly rate would be ¥3,980 JPY (including tax).**

* For customers who fail to meet existing contractual conditions, discounts will apply until the month prior to contract termination and will be annulled thereafter.
** ISP service and universal service costs are not included.
