NTT DOCOMO to Reduce Interconnection Fees

TOKYO, JAPAN, March 2, 2009 --- NTT DOCOMO, INC. announced today that it has notified the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications that the fees it charges other telecommunications operators to interconnect with its network have been reduced by more than 10 percent, effective immediately and applied retroactively to all interconnections since April 1, 2008.

The revised fees are as follow:
Call area New per-second fee
(As of fiscal 2008)
Previous per-second fee
(Through fiscal 2007)
Within same service area *1 0.160 yen (11.1% reduction) 0.180 yen
Between different service areas *2 0.180 yen (11.8% reduction) 0.204 yen
*1 Point of interface and call-receiver are in same DOCOMO service area.
*2 Point of interface and call-receiver are not in same DOCOMO service area.
