Basic Procedures for Mobile Number Portability Announced

TOKYO, JAPAN, May 17, 2006 --- NTT DoCoMo, Inc. and its eight regional subsidiaries, KDDI Corporation, Okinawa Cellular Telephone Company, and Vodafone K.K. today announced the basic procedures for customers to switch mobile phone operators under the Mobile Number Portability (MNP) system, which is scheduled for implementation by November 1, 2006.

Please see the attachment for an overview of the system and details about the procedures.

The mobile phone operators will continue to consider MNP procedures and announce further details in due course.
