O2 to Launch i-mode in Ireland

TOKYO, JAPAN, October 6, 2005 --- NTT DoCoMo, Inc. reported that O2 announced that they will be launching DoCoMo's i-mode® service in Ireland starting October 7th.

The service, which will be offered over O2's W-CDMA and GPRS networks, marks the fourteenth global market for DoCoMo's i-mode mobile Internet service, following Japan, Germany, the Netherlands, Taiwan, Belgium, France, Spain, Italy, Greece, Australia, Israel, Russia and most recently the UK, where O2 launched a service on October 1.

DoCoMo concluded an agreement in November 2004 to provide O2 with know-how, technologies and patents necessary to launch the i-mode service.

DoCoMo will continue to work with international partners to introduce i-mode services in other markets worldwide.
