TOKYO, JAPAN, June 23, 2004 --- NTT DoCoMo, Inc. today announced that the company has joined an international organization of major mobile phone operators that aims to define widely accepted requirements for an open mobile terminal platform.
Called the OMTP group, the new organization consists of founding members mmO2, NTT DoCoMo, Orange, SMART Communications, Telefónica Móviles, TIM (Telecom Italia Mobile), T-Mobile and Vodafone.
