Products & Services

TOKYO, JAPAN, February 3, 2004 --- NTT DoCoMo, Inc. announced today that the F900i, the first of five models in the all-new FOMA® 900i series, will be released on February 6, 2004.

The 900i series, the most advanced series of 3G FOMA i-mode® mobile phones ever to be released, features a Macromedia® Flash™-equipped browser, HTML e-mail and avatar-capable videophone. Compared with the original series of FOMA phones, 900i models offer three times longer standby and weigh 20 percent less.

The main features of the F900i model include:

1) Sweep-type fingerprint sensor for secure access to the phone and stored data.

2) CCD camera with 1.28 mega-pixel effective resolution and 1.23 mega-pixel recorded resolution. Takes SXGA (960 x 1,280 pixel) photos and comes with 16-power (8-step) zoom.

3) Connects to PC via optional USB cable to synchronize schedulers and phone books.

The F900i, like other forthcoming 900i models, is equipped with a Macromedia Flash browser for enjoyment of rich content enhanced with highly fluid animation. It handles Flash applications of up to 100K, compared to 20K in the 2G mova® 505i series. It also handles richer, more sophisticated online games than ever before. Java®-based i-appli™ applications offer a 400K scratch pad and up to 100K for content/archiving, compared to 200K and 30K in existing FOMA models.

All 900i series handsets will be equipped with high-resolution mega-pixel cameras, ranging up to two mega pixels, and slots for either Memory Stick Duo™ or miniSD™ memory cards, depending on the model. For more details about the 900i series, please see the news release announced on December 18, 2003

The F900i will be available through all DoCoMo Kanto-Koshinetsu sales channels. The price of the handset, including a 16 MB miniSD Memory Card, will be open (unfixed). The standard accessory kit, including battery pack, AC adapter and desktop holder will cost 3,500 yen. The eight regional subsidiaries will begin marketing F900i handsets respectively by region.

FOMA service will be available to 99% of the nation's population by the end of March 2004.
