The following contents will apply to the purpose of use of personal information that were acquired before December 11, 2019, concerning customers who have never been a d POINT CLUB member on and after December 11, 2019.

1. Purpose of use of personal information in Telecommunications Business

  1. DOCOMO collects and manages the personal information listed in section (2) below when providing telecommunications services (including various services provided by using the functions of communications devices, sale on installments, individual credit purchase brokerage, Internet connection services pertaining to docomo Hikari provided by partner companies, etc.; the same applies hereinafter), only as required to achieve the following purposes. Only lawful and fair means are used to collect personal information.

    ⑤To conduct surveys and analysis of sales and usage, surveys and analysis of business policies and measure their effectiveness, planning, development, surveys and analysis of new products and services (including services other than telecommunications services), surveys and analysis to improve service quality and customer services, and various other surveys and analysis.     ⑧To manage a subscriber's mobile phone number and freeze its registered credit related services when that subscriber's mobile phone number is registered for credit-related services (defined in section 1 (1) of "Handling of Personal Information for Credit Card Services") for a user other than the subscriber and when the telecommunications service subscription for that mobile phone number is changed. Personal information listed in ①, ⑤, ⑨ and ⑩ of section (2) below.
    ⑨To provide content providers that support the age verification function (hereinafter referred to as "content providers") with the age information of users when the users use their services. Personal information listed in ① of section (2) below.
    Please note that personal information may still be used within the above mentioned purposes, even if the subscription for telecommunications service between DOCOMO and the user has been terminated.
    DOCOMO also may handle the personal information obtained when, for example, providing telecommunications services within the scope of the purpose of use of personal information published for other business areas.
  2. DOCOMO uses the following personal information (including personal information obtained from a third party and obtained in other business areas) for the purpose listed in section (1) above.
    1. Name, address, date of birth, and other information
      • Name, address, date of birth, telephone number, e-mail address, etc.
      • Mailing address, name, telephone number, etc. for bills and receipts
      • Name and date of birth of the user provided by the subscriber
      • docomo Hikari subscription ID of the docomo Hikari subscriber, address where the docomo Hikari related equipment is installed, ISP name, etc.
    2. Details of usage charges etc.
      • Amounts billed, payment status, method of payment, and other details of usage charges
    3. Details of account used for payment
      • Financial institution account number, account name, credit card number, etc.

      • Information on driver's licenses, passports, and other documents to verify a person's identity

      • Information related to various other services and products handled by DOCOMO, such as d CARD
      • The above information includes information on the usage and purchase of various services and products.
    6. Information related to the telecommunications device used
      • Model name, serial number, and other information related to the telecommunications device (Includes identifiers such as cookie ID, advertising ID (AdID), and Advertising Identifier (IDFA), but they are not the only information.)
    7. Call History details
      • The time when a call starts/ends, length of the call, phone number called, and other Call History details
    8. Location information
      • Information related to location information
    9. Other information: record of applications received; content of inquiries, requests, and opinions; and other accompanying details acquired through the provision of telecommunications service
    10. Other information obtained from a third party
  3. Personal information used to carry out business entrusted to DOCOMO from other carriers will be used as necessary to complete the relevant business.
  4. If DOCOMO recognizes that any of the following cases apply, personal information may be used for purposes other than the original purpose of data collection, while giving the utmost consideration to the rights and interests of the user.
    1. If laws or regulations apply;
    2. If it is necessary for the protection of a person's life, body, or assets, and receiving consent from the user is difficult;
    3. If it is especially necessary for the improvement of public health or promotion of the sound growth of children, and receiving consent from the user is difficult; or
    4. If cooperation is required to conduct duties stipulated in laws and regulations of government institutions/local authorities or parties entrusted by them, and there is concern that receiving consent from the user may interfere with the conduct of those duties.

2. Purpose of use of personal information for Credit Card Services

  1. DOCOMO collects and manages the personal information listed in section (2) below when providing comprehensive credit purchase brokerage and other services providing credit in exchange for products and services, services related to cash loans, and other related services, including provided services called iD (hereinafter collectively referred to as "Credit Related Services"), only as required to achieve the following purposes. Only lawful and fair means are used to collect personal information.

    ⑧To investigate and respond to system outages and other malfunctions. Personal information listed in ① to ④, ⑥ to ⑨ and ⑪ of section (2) below.
    Please note that personal information may still be used within the above mentioned purposes, even if the subscription for Credit Related Services between DOCOMO and the user has been terminated.
    DOCOMO also may handle the personal information obtained when, for example, providing Credit Related Services within the scope of the purpose of use of personal information published for other business areas.
  2. DOCOMO uses the following personal information (including personal information obtained from a third party and obtained in other business areas) for the purpose listed in section (1) above.

      Name, address, date of birth, age, gender, telephone number, e-mail address, occupation, place of work, purpose of transaction, family composition, housing status, financial institution account number, account name, etc.

  4. If DOCOMO recognizes that any of the following cases apply, personal information may be used for purposes other than those noted above, while giving the utmost consideration to the rights and interests of the user.
    1. If laws or regulations apply;
    2. If it is necessary for the protection of a person's life, body, or assets, and receiving consent from the user is difficult;
    3. If it is especially necessary for the improvement of public health or promotion of the sound growth of children, and receiving consent from the user is difficult; or
    4. If cooperation is required to conduct duties stipulated in laws and regulations of government institutions/local authorities or parties entrusted by them, and there is concern that receiving consent from the user may interfere with the conduct of those duties.

3. Purpose of use of personal information in Financial Business, etc.

  1. DOCOMO collects and manages the following personal information when, for example, providing money transfer services, insurance-related services (a collective term for insurance services wherein DOCOMO or a user is the policyholder), and warranty-related services (a collective term for warranty-related operations, etc. based on the indemnity agreement entered between DOCOMO and the user, and for services to provide information on the user's management of household accounts related to warranty-related operations) only as required to achieve the usage purposes defined in (2). Only lawful and fair means are used to collect personal information.

    DOCOMO collects the information that the user provided to the insurance company relating to the insurance application submitted to DOCOMO or a docomo Shop operating entity (herein after referred to as "docomo Shop Operating Company").

      Location information acquired by an application installed on a communication device used; information on the area where a communication device is located (location information of relevant base stations); location information acquired by applications and/or various sensors provided by third parties other than DOCOMO and provided to DOCOMO; information related to location information such as Wi-Fi location information of a communication device (information on access points)
    17. Information Related to Management of Household Accounts
      The following information related to the user using the services provided by Money Forward, Inc. for the acquisition of information on a user's financial institution account (hereinafter referred to as "Account Information Linking Services"): details of a subscription for and usage status of the Account Information Linking Services; and information on the account number, balance, transaction history, etc. of a user's financial institution account registered on the Account Information Linking Services
    18. Information on Internet Usage
      The following information collected by DOCOMO or collected by a third party using cookies and provided to DOCOMO thereby: visited websites, search keywords, information related to viewing advertisements, cookie information, IP address, unique identification numbers of communication devices, etc.
    19. Images and voice recordings acquired from Shinsei Bank, Limited (including videos and images recorded with cameras and other equipment located at Shinsei Bank, Limited, and audio conversations with users, etc. recorded by Shinsei Bank, Limited)

  2. DOCOMO uses personal information listed in section (1) above for the following purposes. Please note that personal information listed in section (1) above may still be used within the below mentioned purposes, even if the subscription for money transfer services and insurance-related services between DOCOMO and the user has been terminated.
    1. Personal information handled in money transfer services is used for business related to docomo kouza, docomo Money Transfer, etc.
      Personal information handled in insurance-related services is used for business related to DOCOMO's insurance, etc.
    2. To respond to opinions, requests, inquiries, etc. related to the relevant businesses (which refer to businesses related to the docomo kouza, docomo Money Transfer, etc. in money transfer services and refer to businesses related to insurance-related services in insurance-related services; the same applies hereinafter.).
    3. To carry out campaigns and other sales promotions etc. related to the relevant businesses.
    4. To conduct surveys and analysis of sales and usage related to the applicable businesses, surveys and analysis of business policies and measure their effectiveness, planning, development, surveys, and analysis of new products and services, surveys and analysis to improve service quality and customer services, and various other surveys and analysis.

    <Handling the sensitive information>
    Ordinance for Enforcement of the Insurance Business Act and Guidelines for Personal Information Protection in the Financial Field stipulate that the sensitive information including the user's state of health and clinical history handled in the insurance-related services should only be used with the user's consent within the limited scope to ensure the appropriate business operations and for other purposes deemed necessary. DOCOMO shall not collect or use the sensitive information, nor provide them to a third party for purposes other than these purposes.
    <Purpose for collecting Individual Number (social security and tax number) >
    DOCOMO collects and uses your Individual Number to, for example, create the documents to be submitted in accordance with Act on Submission of Statement of Overseas Wire Transfers for Purpose of Securing Proper Domestic Taxation when providing docomo Money Transfer. Your Individual Number (social security and tax number) will not be used for purposes other than this purpose.
    <Purpose of use of personal information for warranty-related services>
    DOCOMO uses personal information related to warranty-related services for the following purposes.
    Please note that personal information may still be used within the below mentioned purposes, even if the indemnity agreement and/or the subscription for other warranty-related services between DOCOMO and the user has been terminated.
    (Even if the indemnity agreement fails to be concluded, the fact that an application related to the agreement was made will be used for the following purposes and pursuant to Section 2. for a certain period regardless of the reason for such failure. However, that fact shall not be used for any other purposes.)
    DOCOMO may also handle the personal information obtained when, for example, providing warranty-related services within the scope of the purpose of use of personal information published for other business areas.
    1. To evaluate credit, manage credit information, and conduct other activities for the provision of warranty-related services.
    2. To verify the user's identity and family relationship at the time of application as well as whenever warranty-related services are provided.
    3. To provide warranty-related services; various announcements (including announcements of services, etc. of allied financial institutions and other business alliance partners of DOCOMO) of products and services (including those other than warranty-related services); to display and/or distribute advertisements; to conduct various questionnaire surveys and ship rewards, etc.; to carry out campaigns and any other sales promotion programs; to select winners, ship prizes and announce news in the course of campaigns, events, etc.
    4. To conduct surveys and analysis of usage, surveys and analysis of business policies and measure their effectiveness, planning, development, surveys, and analysis of new products and services (including services other than warranty-related services), surveys and analysis to improve service quality and customer services, and various other surveys and analysis.

If DOCOMO recognizes that any of the following cases apply (any of ① and ② below in the case of Individual Number [social security and tax number]), personal information may be used for purposes other than the original purpose of data collection, while giving the utmost consideration to the rights and interests of the user.
    1. If laws or regulations apply;
    2. If it is necessary for the protection of a person's life, body, or assets, and receiving consent from the user is difficult;
    3. If it is especially necessary for the improvement of public health or promotion of the sound growth of children, and receiving consent from the user is difficult; or
    4. If cooperation is required to conduct duties stipulated in laws and regulations of government institutions/local authorities or parties entrusted by them, and there is concern that receiving consent from the user may interfere with the conduct of those duties.
    DOCOMO shall receive the user's consent prior to handling their personal information beyond what is necessary to achieve the usage purpose excluding the case stipulated in any of the Provisions in the Paragraph 3, Article 16 of the Act on the Protection of Personal Information.
  4. DOCOMO may check the status of payments for remittance amounts, handling fees, and Premium Equivalent Amount for docomo kouza, docomo Money Transfer, DOCOMO's insurance, etc., and use the information to determine the provision of telecommunications services.
