* The estimated reduction ratios from the 5G maximum communication speed are 10-19% for download and 20 to 40% for upload. In the 4G network, the effective speed has declined compared to the maximum communication speed by the technical standards because of the growth of users. When 5G becomes as common as the current 4G, the effective speed of 5G is assumed to decrease compared to the maximum communication speed similarly to the case of 4G as shown below. For details, please see the Communications/Areas. The mentioned maximum speed is the maximum value by the technical standard, which does not indicate the actual communication speed. As docomo offers best-efforts service, the actual communication speed will vary depending on the communication environment and network congestion state. The 5G service is available in limited areas. For details on the service areas and available models, please visit the Communications/Areas.
* Comparison, as of December 2020, of the maximum communication speeds for download by the technical standards announced by each carrier. The areas and models should support 4.2Gbps.
